Today, I’ve come across an epiphany of celebrating birthdays and I remembered “Inang”, as what her daughters and sons call. She’s my grandmother!
Her 99th birthday was celebrated with a little grandeur, but it would not compare to what I have heard with her upcoming celebration this April 2011. Surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and the children of her grandchildren, there really is so much to thank for and I am so sure that she’s going to be happy.
Today also marks the Middle East celebration of Mother’s Day. I have read too many posts in my Facebook all good wishes and loving quotes to all mothers. I wish the same for my mother and to all the mothers in the world, although Mother’s day in Philippines will be celebrated by the first Sunday of May 2011.
Today I will celebrate my birthday with relaxing bath, or perhaps spend 30 minutes on the tub. A good dinner of fish & soup from our cafeteria, and a nice cup of ginger tea and good slumber cuddling my pillow! Thank you for all the greetings and wishes! Friends, would that be all?? Greetings? Where’s the gift?
Tonight, I pray with thanks for my 42nd year, living a life full, guided by God’s grace along with supporting family. I pray with thankfulness to God for dear friends who has kept me both wild and sane and kept my feet on the ground! I pray with thankfulness for the people who have given me experiences of learning life which makes me stronger and makes me a better person every day! Just like any other days, I pray for good health for my grandmother and my mother, and to keep you all safe and in God’s loving grace.
Oh, before I end this, nobody made a mistake of greeting me “Happy Mother’s Day”, it would be a good laugh though.
